I wear pants regulary for several days.

In fact, unless they are physically dirty, smell, or I've been sweating in them, I'll hold off.

I'll admit, I do it too! I'm a sahm so my jeans are really only worn when I have to go to the store or visiting friends and family. I do the same thing to my 4 year old daughter too, except for the opposite reason. She plays in our yard most of the day, rolls in the grass, digs in the dirt, so I put the same play clothes on her a couple days in a row. Her baby brother is another story... but atleast his clothes are tiny.

yes, i pretty much just use the smell test to determine whether or not it is time to wash my clothes, and like the added bonus that my clothes therefore last longer going through fewer of the harsh cycles of washing!

Sorry for my ignorance, but do they ever get dirty? I have not washed my jeans since months and they do not appear dirty at all.

Well well well, it sucks when laundry room is a block away from where you live and you live on a third floor of a building that does not have an elevator

I wear my jeans until they get dirty. I only have 3 pairs, so I probably wear each one at least 10 times unless i spill food or something on them. otherwise, I just wear dresses. I wear a shirt only 1-3 times before washing though. I rarely wash my dresses. Underwear only gets one wear. I only wear socks when I wait tables 1-2 times a week, so i just air them out and get a wear or two out of them.

i'll wear my pants 2-5 times, and shirts 2 times. i have a desk job so my clothes only get dirty if i drop food on them, and i change out of my clothes as soon as i get home into my "around the house clothes"(old jeans and tshirts, sweatpants, pajama pants, boxers, tank tops) which take less loads of laundry to wash.

I am good for at least 2 or 3 wearings before I wash my jeans. Same for a sweatshirt (shirts worn underneath).

yes, i wear jeans and other items twice, if not 3 times, without a second thought. obviously, as previously stated, it depends on the item. most of my clothes I only wear after coming home from work, or on weekends, when they don't really get really dirty anyway.

I really hate doing laundry and like saving money.

Does anyone think this is dirty?
Totally normal. I usually use jeans 2-3 times before washing unless I get them dirty or use them in physical activity that produces a lot of sweat. Besides saving money, you're saving a diminishing resource in water too.

Oh my goodness yes! I have a husband with a dirty job and 4 kids from 5 months to 5 years old--- it's a lucky wash load if I ( Mom) remember to throw anything of mine in LOL!
I rarely wear "real" clothign anyhow, being home with the kids, although now that my oldest is in half day kindergarten, I do have to "remember" to get dressed twice a day for the bus stop! LOL!

Slacks I'll only wear once, but I get a few good wears out of my jeans before I wash them. I also rewear my sweaters if I've been wearing a shirt on underneath. And although I probably never would have done it before, ever since I started working from home, I occassionally wear the same shirt twice, since I wear a tank-top underneath them. I guess I never really thought about it as being frugal, I just figured everyone wore their jeans twice unless they got them filthy!

i work in a bakery where it gets pretty darn hot (and sweaty)- so the clothes i wear to work there are in the laundry basket as soon as i get home. because i get home at around 2pm, i wear a second change of clothes from 2pm til i put on my pjs (around 6pm) so jeans or shorts probably get about 5 wears out of them, only because each wear is about four hours - and all i ever do is bum around home, cook, shop or see friends - nothing that strenuous that i would get them actually dirty or smelly. i never re-wear t-shirts or singlets, but my jumpers or cardigans i usually wear around 3 times before i wash them.

Jeans/pants for me twice before washing unless they get dirt on them shirts only once before washing.

I also wear night close twice before washing as well.

Now if the kids would stay clean I would try to do the same

If our clothes aren't dirty, we have no problem re-wearing them! It saves on washing, but I figure also on the wear of our clothing.

Oh gosh, I wear my jeans for two weeks to a month sometimes if I only wear them for a few hours each time. And so long as they don't smell. I find that not wearing them everyday all the time and having a day to air out helps that issue. If I wore them for 8 hours plus a day, I would probably would let them hang out to air out for a day and wear another pair the next day and then switch back and see the situation and maybe wash them then, or wear them another day. Nothing all that gross about it to me.

i wear raw selvage jeans these days, i have 2 pairs i haven't washed for approximately 1 year now. however, i do live in seattle, and i don't sweat in them. they don't smell in my closet either. of course, i rotate these pairs among the 4-5 other pairs of jeans, as well as my work trousers and shorts for the summer.

when i was in the amazon (brazil) this past summer, it was impossible to wash our clothes since they don't dry in the extreme humidity, now THAT was a bit gross and smelly, but it just added to the amazonian experience =D
