I have a closet in a room that I hardly ever use that is just full of junk. I decided to declutter it and found some strange things:
A pile of National Geographic Magazines from 1974 A pair of pants still in their dry cleaning plastic dated to 1995 Christmas cards received dating back to 1979 The strangest thing was a lava lamp (I wonder if I bought it or it was given to me????????) that appears to be from the 1970s LOL What is the strangest or oldest thing you have ever come across while decluttering. |

Generally speaking I am painfully aware of what is in my cluttered closets, I just have trouble parting with it or getting my husband too.
I did discover awhile back and annoying ashtray (we don't smoke) and some stupid ceramic feet. I had been keeping them around because my mothers second husbands mother made them. She isn't alive anymore and my mother moved to husband number three, I was just reshuffling them out of habit! |

lol. I'd love to see a photo of those ceramic feet!
I was cleaning up in the garage this past weekend and found a huge pile of dirty rags. Not really strange, but what was I thinking in keeping all of them? |

sorry long gone, but they were orange if that helps the mental picture

Orange ceramic feet? LOL I can't imagine why they aren't displayed prominently on your dining room table! You should have put them on ebay. They probably would have sold for $100s

Maybe thats why I'm in this mess, I don't think of things like that. I just send it out to the good will.

Maybe ebay those magazines... they maybe worth something.
The feet... oh my!! |

"Maybe ebay those magazines... they maybe worth something."
Probably the lava lamp too. Of course, not as as much as the ceramic feet, but that goes without saying ![]() |

hey since you all ound like expirienced ebayers how about:
Some pieces of fake turf form the old Ringold high School track ![]() Dozen "car coins" fake coins with a car on one side and a discription on the other Tokens from miscelaneos arcades an old triangular shaped rock, wrapped for a necklace. an old Kiss pin square. Just a few more of the things I have decluttered, but these ones my DH doesn't want me to give away, cause he thinks they are worth someting. Well except he pieces ofthe track, that he finally let me toss. |

The one thing that I have learned about ebay is that trying to predict what things will sell for is nearly impossible unless you have sold many of them in the past. Even then, they will still surprise you from time to time.
The Kiss pin probably is worth something as well as possiblty the car coins. Just a guess since I'm not really familiar with that area. |

LOL on the ceramic feet. I will have to try the magazines and lava lamp on Ebay when I have some time. I will let you know if they sell or not. |

I used to buy really strange wood stuff on my trips to other countires that ended up in the back of my closet. I cleaned it out last year and it was like a world bazaar. African face masks, totem poles and other carvings. I have grown out of that phase luckily.
