Default What's your BEST drug store find??

Ok, I've been trying to pare down buying cosmetics, shampoos, moisturizers, Etc. Etc. There was a time I bought only my cosmetics at high end department stores but now I try and find the best I can at the drug store. Now that I'm on a budget I'm curious as to what is the best find/buy you get at your local drug store. No matter what it is i'm curious as to what the tried and true products you love are!!

I fill my and my cat's prescriptions as CVS so I'm always getting coupons for $2 or $4 off purchase, etc. Combine that with items that are on sale and coupons, I'm paying pennies for shampoo, toothpaste, etc.

As for cosmetics, I've fallen in love with the Bare Essentials line. I'm skeptical of anything I see on infomercials, but I was able to sample the product at Sephora and love it. The kit was $60, but you use so little of it each time that it will last awhile. Plus, everything is powder, so its very airport/TSA friendly.

I use Secret Clinical Strength and got it w/ a coupon & rebate from rite-aid for $5.49. That was nice!!

I honestly don't go to pharmacies too often. I do shop some of the sales, but not too often. I don't wear makeup or use a lot of beauty products. I've noticed that it's cheaper for me to buy my shampoo & conditioner from walmart with a coupon than to get it on sale at a pharmacy.

I stopped getting my prescription from CVS. I was paying $30 a month w/insurance, then when I didn't have insurance it was only $33. I now get the same thing for $18 a month at Costco. I buy 6+ months at a time. Saving a TON of money!

I got a good deal on the candy I buy for my bridge days. It is usually $3.59 a bag but it is on sale this week for $1.99 at CVS. My husband uses suave shampoo and conditioner and it is only 99 cents a bottle and he likes it best.

Walgreens lets you pair their Walgreens coupons with a manufacturers coupon. For example:

Today there was a coupon for my favorite Vivactin vitamins in the Walgreens circular for $3 off. There was also one in the Sunday paper coupons for $3.00 off. I used them both today.
Orginal price...............$8.20
Walgreens coupon -$3.00
Manufacturer coupon-$3.00
----------
$2.20 for my vitamins! Whohoo!!!

If you learn to do the drugstore rebates, you'll get all of your drugstore items for free. CVS's program is said to be the best. I get about $30 worth of products free a month by doing the rebate programs.

Play the drug store game and you can get all sorts of stuff for free or really close. Lately: Infusium, Pantene, Olay, Covergirl, Revlon, Herbal Essences, Colgate, Crest, Aquafresh (okay, you shouldn't ever pay for toothpaste), Oral B, Speed Stick, Dove . . Tried and true products I really like: Olay Ribbons body wash. Oral B Pulsar ProHealth toothbrush. Colgate Advanced Clean toothpaste. Olay Daily facials. Surprisingly I really like Walgreens' Isadora foundation and I had been using Mary Kay for a long time. BTW, I think Walgreens and CVS both have unconditional guarantees for their cosmetics. I think these guarentees also apply to all of their branded merchandise.

CVS is great for deals! You can combine their coupons (usually printed with your receipt) with a manufacturers coupon. They also have emails that you can print out to get $x off if you spend $xx. I got a coupon on my receipt today that was $10 off a $50 purchase. I used a $4 off a $20 purchase email today. There are many weeks where CVS is paying me to take stuff off their hands when you combine their sales, Extra Care Bucks and manufacturers coupons. Today I spent $.08 out of pocket for 8 rolls of towels, Pepcid, eye drops, and travel size contact solution. Not bad!

Oh, so many people are praising CVS. I've been shopping Walgreen "free after rebate" items for some time now, but i'm not sure i have time or energy to monitor more than 1 drugstore program. it gets time-consuming.

I have been shopping CVS and compiling their deals on my blog. I love it because I can get a lot of stuff for free or really cheap.
