Hee - I have my own personal example of why not to be cheap. I recently had a cheapskate moment when I decided not to put an extra quarter (that's 25 cents!) in my parking meter before a hair appointment, which I knew would run longer than the time I had paid for. I had a fleeting thought that I'd come out and put more money in the meter later (with a smock on and foils in my hair? Plus, i have over-40 brain, so remembering that was a long shot!) When I returned to my car after the appointment, I had a $10 parking ticket on my car! Basically, I spent $9.75 to save 25 cents! I'm glad I found this thread because I forgot all about the ticket and if I don't pay it by October 15, it will go up to $12.00. I will pop it in the mail tomorrow. And, next time I'll cough up the extra quarter!
I'm o.k. with my cheap moments because I understand why they happen. I try to learn and help myself to make better choices in the future. And I have a good laugh!
