Thumbs up Medical Reimbursement

Today's daily message was a gret reminder for me. At DH's new (new this year) job, we have access to this sort of reimbursement program. We weren't sure how much to set aside, so we were very conservative in our estimates. I have, however, been keeping track of all of our medical expenses this year, so that next year we can try to get more reimbursed.

I've got my folder of receipts out as I type, so that DH can turn some of them in this week for reimbursement!

Glad that the reminder was a help. Something to take note of is that it's getting more difficult to get appointments in December as everyone rushes to use up their accounts and as they become more popular, this trend is only likely to grow. The ruling that over-the-counter medicine qulaifies should also help out a great deal since you can stock up on these if you can't spend the money in other way.

Just watch how how you stock up--for example, our plan states "stocking up is not allowed". It also states "only 2 bottles of aspirin or tylenol can be purchased in a 30 day period". BUT, it does not state the size of the bottles. So, if you take aspirin daily, you would not want to get a small bottle of 30. With a house full of young kids, I hope there is not a limit as to the number of boxes of bandaides I can get in a month...I have not used the plan in the past, but have enrolled in it for the upcoming year, after reviewing what all I can count in this pretax pool.

I just signed up for this for next year. I was very conservative in my estimate and will probably spend more than I set aside. we'll see
