Default A great way not to spend money

This may sound a bit stupid, but it has really worked for me. I ended up taking an extra part time job. It wasn't for the money although it does bring some extra cash in. It was to help a friend out. What I found is that it has drastically reduced the amount I spend each month. The reason? I just don't have the time to go out and buy things that I would if I didn't have the part-time job.

Find a way to keep yourself busy that doesn't cost money (and maybe even earns a bit) and you may also be surprised at how well it helps in keeping your spending down.

Yes! this is very true. Money tends to disappear into that vacuum of the unknown when you have extra time. I don't think it has to be a job, but a good hobby (one that isn't expensive and that you could turn into a part-time business would be great) is worth finding. This is one of those saving ideas that doesn't get mentioned often, but does have truth to it
