Skyauction.com has all auctions starting at $1. We got a timeshare in beautiful NW Arkansas for $1 (plus $198 in taxes), but for 7 nights equals $28/night. The timeshare had a washer and dryer, full kitchen so we didn't have to spend money eating out, fireplace with firewood provided, and two bedrooms. Master bath had a 4-person jacuzzi in it! Plus, the timeshare people paid us $75 to listen to their sales presentation (uh, thanks, but no thanks. Can we have our money now?). Frequently there are condos on there that are not bid on in all areas of the country.

If you are willing to spend about $1,000 I recommend going to the Carribbean for 7 nights 8 days you can go all inclusive food alcohol plane ride to the hotel and activities. Some places let you take your children free. Dominican Republic is resonable then there is Mexico and is Jamaica a little more but it is not that much cause it is airfare and food all you can eat and entertainment and no tips

My boyfriend and I like to vacation in areas where family live so we can save on hotels.

Last October we drove to Washington DC and Philadelphia. Splurged on food and beer and still only spent $400 each total.

This year we are flying to Venezuela where his family owns a beach house. $350 ea for the flight and around $300 for food and a rental there. Not bad for an international 1-week trip, imo.

Mom and I went to Vegas on the cheap last year as well. We stayed with my grandparents. Ended up paying for our flight with my Royal Flush winnings too. (Although I must admit that was luck!)
