The worse gift I've ever recieved was a valentines gift from my ex husband...then boyfriend. We had both just moved into our own apartments in the same complex and he gave me a dollar store frying pan and a plastic ashtray.......lol.......I had bought him a digital camera which at that time there were no cheap ones!

I wrote about dh's worst gift, but I think this year's from my boss is pretty close. She gave me two ornaments that were cheap but OK. What was at the bottom was a small zipper bag of popcorn she had popped. Nothing special about it, just some popcorn. She is not known as a cook. I really couldn't figure out the gift of popcorn. Let me tell you, writing that thank you note took some creativity!

Maybe the popcorn was to keep the ornaments from breaking kind of like plastic peanuts?

its not that its a bad gift, its just the thought behind them that gets me. I think I have gotten like 15 devotionals from my wifes family. Do they think I need them or what? No reciepts, I think there were pizza stains on the pages from them using them. The last 2 were given to me by her sister who just got a divorce, and her husband cheated on her twice, they were huge devotional readers. Dont get me wrong I like god and all but 15.

I can see your point, Eric! My birthday was a little over a week ago and a coworker gave me a cooking magazine, but admitted she read it and made some recipes from it. I noticed a couple of food stains on the cover. I don't know whether to be delighted she thought so much of me to share, or to be disappointed she gave me something she was done with.

Maybe you could return the devotionals after a certain time telling them you appreciated getting them and perhaps they would like to reuse them? Perhaps that would open up a time when you could add you have 15 of them at this point and perhaps they would get the hint that you don't need any more.
