Re: How do you earn extra money?
I sell on ebay.
I do online surveys. I'm a physician and the surveys available to doctors pay quite well. In the past 2 weeks, I've earned over $200 from surveys.

Re: How do you earn extra money?
I do focus groups (twice a year, maybe $150-200 total).
I also do clinical trials and research, but nothing too scary. I work at an academic hospital, and there is almost always some study going on that I qualify for. Sometimes it's just $25 for a blood sample, but I have also received $325 for a three-day study (and my boss gave me paid time off since it was for science!) and I am currently doing one that pays $300 over the course of a year.
I also had a garage sale, but I have since promised my guy that we won't do another, so now any clutter I find goes to friends, Goodwill, or Freecycle.

I used to do the plasma thing until I started getting a hole in my arm from the needle. Now I have so much scar tissue there they can't get a needle in to draw blood..

Re: How do you earn extra money?
Hey, that survey stuff sounds cool. What are good surveys to be involved with? Are there a lot of scams out there? Who's reputable?

Re: How do you earn extra money?
Pincecone is reputable. They pay $5 per survey. I've done one before... for salad dressing. They paid about a week after I got the survey.
However, your eligibility with Pinecone depends on your lifestyle, age range, and what not. The salad dressing one was the only one I was qualified for.
Otherwise, it is safe to be suspect of anything else that's out there. Get rich quick schemes that fool you into thinking you will get rich quick are as prolific as weeds out there.

Re: How do you earn extra money?
I sell my girls outgrown clothes and toys at a church consignment sale twice a year. I'm also on with pinecone (two surveys completed so far). Rebates, selling items on ebay. I do an occassional garage sale (once every two years).
I don't do alot, but it's fun to have the extra money!!

Re: How do you earn extra money?
I am crafty (sewing&papercrafts), so I make various items to sell when we have a garage sale or to friends (or friends of friends) and family. DH does freelance computer work, everything from building to troubleshooting to programming.
I had a friend in my hometown that was a pro at finding jobs to do for extra income. He had a full time and a part time job. He also mowed lawns, ran errands, cleaned houses for the elderly, took the elderly to do thier shopping and helped them with their shopping. He never really charged that much but with all those little bits he made a killing! He had a truck and would help people move. A lot of times he would just help someone to be nice and help them out. They would offer him a six pack or something like that for helping and he would say no thanks, and that he would take the cash instead if it was alright with them. That guy would be the richest man I know if he didn't have a gambling problem. He never had a problem coming up with money. I should have watched him a little closer!
