I ordered a "Kid's Hamburger Meal" at BK the other day. I was shocked to see the bun and burger is at least 20% smaller! It was noticeably smaller than it used to be. Any other meals that are "getting smaller"? I find this very annoying. I would rather have a higher price and get what I am used to than the incredible shrinking portions of everything. Seems like "rip-off" is the name of the game. Even those stupid little ketchup packets have so little actual ketchup in them, you wonder why they even bother! I would like some Large Ketchup Packets so I don't have to open 10 of those things!! AArrgh.

Nope! I grew up not poor, but we had some slim meals at times. I remember having meatloaf sandwiches, bacon and eggs and chicken more times than I care to count though. I said to myself when I grow up I am going to get whatever I want on the menu! I still was conservative when I moved out on my own. Now as I grow older, I don't want to look back and say in my old age that I wish I had of ordered prime rib instead of hamburger all the time! I order exactly what I want now and I have no regrets.

I'm with you on that - I normally circumvent the problem by stating "separate cheques, please" before ordering anything. I find that if you're proactive, people usually go along.

Good sugggestion. There were about 12 of us and I thought we would get seperate checks. I notice the portion size getting smaller too. I use to get the small burger at BK and it was perfect and 79 cents. Then they started making them much smaller, so now I have to get a whopper! I don't eat there much, I prefer the $1 menu at wendy's!!

There dessert is outrageous. They roll out a 3 level cart, roughly 5 feet high and 5 feet long. Each level is filled with all kinds of freshly made cakes, pies, pastries, flan, creme brulee, souffles, etc. The server will give you small portions of as many of the items as you wish. You could have every single one if you really wanted to, though there are 40-some items so that would be pretty tough.

If you order a bottle of champage, Georges Perrier, the owner, comes out with a saber and uncorks the bottle by whacking it with the saber. It's quite a sight.

The entertainment sounds great but you didn't say how the food was.

When you are a good cook like myself, (this is not self recommendation, my family and friends rave when I cook.) it takes alot more than entertainment to please me for dinner. The price is not too extreme for a special events.

Actually, in the first post I mentioned the restaurant, I said it was spectacular. Top-notch all the way. Well worth the price for a special occasion. The champagne thing isn't a regular deal but he will do it if you ask.
