OK. I know I should get my leaky faucet fixed, but a handyman wants $50 to do it. How much does a leaky faucet cost? I know over the long run it will be more, but I just want to know how urgent it is to get it done. Anyone have any ideas? I wish I was more constructive with fixing stuff around the house.

Expensive. My water bill went from $3.00 to $15 in just one month! ((shame on me!)) I do know how to fix it, I just haven't made the time to do it! (it's easy, really!)

Go to the library and pick up a simple plumbing book. Best case situation would be an O ring that needs replaced, worst situation is a complete new faucet or replacing the piping.
All of which you can do on your own with a book and some advice from the hardware store. GOOD LUCK! |

Here is a page that might help you: <A HREF="http://www.barbarak.com/tips_repfau.html">How to Fix a Leaky Faucet</A>
It is worth fixing, especially if the leak is from a hot water pipe. If so, it will cost you about $50 a year if the leak is slow...more if it is fast. |
