Default Anniversary coming up

Our anniversary is on April 12th and I've told my husband I don't want anything but he's stubborn sometimes. What can we do for a nice evening together without spending a lot of money? We still have CC bills to pay off.

Have him cook a nice meal?

Light candles, use a tablecloth and cloth napkins. Send the kids (if you have them) to a friends for the night. Rent a great movie. Look at your wedding photos and reflect on what you've done in your married life.

I agree; rent a great romantic movie (Out of Africa, Amelie, Iris, South Pacific, Wuthering Heights), cook a wonderful dinner by candlelight, splurge on a good bottle of wine or champagne which you will drink out of something besides jelly jars, and have a date. Get dressed up for each other. Give each other gift certificates for a favor; (my boyfriend recently offered to totally update my computer; I gave him the promise of 10 frozen dinners, for the nights that we don't spend together. Other options might be coupons for massages, car washes, yard work, laundry, closet organizing, starting and warming up the car in the dead of winter...you get the picture!
