Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
Spent $57 on a new kit Bare Escentuals after watching it QVC....as if that was not bad enough I signed up for auto delivery which means they will send a kit with the season's new colors every 4 months at the same price for each shipment.

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
Went to walmart with DH last night and wound up buying a larger than planned for birthday present for nephew (3 years) and niece (8 years). They are having a birthday party this weekend. I had budgeted $30 total and wound up spending close to $60 !

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
Very unfrugal weekend here.
Yesterday afternoon, I had lied down in bed and fell asleep. About the same time, my daughter fell asleep on the family room floor. When we both finally got up, none of us felt like cooking so we ordered pizza for dinner.
Today, we went into the city and had lunch at our favorite vegetarian Chinese restaurant.

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
Today was one of those days when you think what else can go wrong.
1. I went to a dental appointment. I have to admit, this is the first time in a long time. After wearing braces for two years, I have been terrified of anyone who messes with my teeth. Anyways, I need about $1000 worth of work done. $250 of that was covered today.
2. My lovely paid off car pretty much died today. For the third time this year, it leaked in the garage. The only difference is that the other two times, it was a slow leak. The leak today looked like someone poured a bottle of oil on the ground. There was a trail of oil everywhere I went. This is after I got the leak fixed twice supposedly; the last time included an oil change 2 weeks ago. Time for a new car I guess. I can't afford to have unreliable transportation. Whoever said Hondas last forever was wrong. My husband's Ford is in much better shape even though his is the same year with the same mileage.
So goes life.

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
just my experience with hondas (and my family's too): they go forever but when they die they die hard. i've had poor luck with fords and they had several years with noted transmission issues (of course, i've just bought a ford 2 months ago!). best cars my parents have ever owned were both subarus. those cars were like the energizer bunny...

I ran the heat all afternoon. I had guests and they were cold.

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
My trip home from my parent's house was pretty frugal since they drove me to the airport in NY (saved $9.50 in train fare). But, then when I got off the train over here, I was so tired that rather than walk the 4/5 of a mile back to my house I spent $7 on a cab ride.

I bought a book for school rather than seeing if it's available at the library.

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
Our garbage disposal went out, or should I say rusted out (it came with the house and has been in forever)! There was no fixing it so we had buy another one. I don't use it that much so we opted for the cheapest! I hope that was a smart decision!! We spent $85.00 and my husband installed it, so that saved by not having to hire somebody!

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
Confession time: It's been snowing and cold where we live, so for the past 4 days we cranked the heat up from 62 to 63! Today it's warmer so it's back down to 62.

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
Forgot to turn the heat off when we went to bed so it ran until about 3 am when I woke up hot and remembered it was on.
Spent about $20 on lunch for me and the boy when we went out to eat.

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
$65 tonight taking a friend of mine out for a birthday dinner. Gah! I wasn't expecting that much. And that was only half the bill! I split the cost with the other friend of the birthday girl.

Re: What unfrugal thing did you do today or yesterday?
Got a kit kat bar out of the vending machine using my spare change (which ultimately gets dumped into my savings account usually).
By the way, us servers appreciate you ladies that still tip well considering your frugality! I live by the rule: if you can afford to eat out, you can afford to tip well. But most people dont get this idea, and it's us who suffer! Most people dont realize that tips are really the only income servers have. They focus more on the idea that THEY are the ones with the power rather than what happens if they tip crappy... I'm lucky I make a decent amount of money doing what I do. Everything is always so inconsistent!
