Default New Carpet

Anyone have any ideas on buying new carpet? The best times to buy or the best way to get a good deal? Thanks for whatever help you can give us.

We just waited until a local store was having a sale. We got very good carpet for our living room 18 years ago. Yes, we still have it. I'm very happy that it has held up so well, but geesh! am I tired of green!! LOL! My friend on the other hand buys cheaper carpet, and then replaces it after about 5 years. My thought would be to get the best quality carpet and the best padding that you can afford.

We build houses and this is what we reccommend. Go to the carpet store with the best installer. Ask around, builders usually know. We tell our customers find a carpet that they like. It doesn't matter where you find it, any carpet store can get what you want. Then we send them with carpet brand and name, in hand, to the store in Murphy that has the installer we want. (the other's bash up the woodwork) That carpet store owner knows us and will match the price.

Also, I worked in a carpet store before and the sale prices were always fake!! It was the price the store owner wanted anyway!!

I had a friend go to Home Depot. He said it was because they guaranteed their work. So far they have had to come out 6 times to restreach the carpet. 6 times!! Get the best installer around, that is what really counts.
