Julie, there are now generic/store brand versions of Prilosec. Be sure and check those as they may be cheaper even after the rebate.

Stopped by the grocery store instead of the gas station before work. Picked up a gallon of water (3.78 liters) for 89 cents instead of $1.69 for 1.5 liter. Plus I'll reuse the bottle for ice in my cooler over and over.

Yesterday I cooked with a friend rather than going to chipotle. Today I listed 7 books on amazon (1 of which already sold!), and ate leftovers for breakfast. I'll be cooking tonight to have leftovers to bring to work tomorrow for lunch.

Went to our local grocery store pharmacy to pick up some antibotics for both of my boys ear infections. This was frugal because normally my copay is $5 each, but at the local grocery store they now offer free generic oral antibiotics. I saved $10 (2 kids prescriptions).

On my way to depositing my husbands' company check, I stopped at Walgreens and bough mixed nuts and cashews (their brand). They were on sale for $2.00 a can and I bought 4. Planters and other companies charge over $4.00 a can. We're on a special diet that require that we eat a lot of nuts. Might as well get them on sale. I also picked up a marked down Salmon cake (2) seasoned with Tuscan sauce and that will be our dinner today and bought a marked down item (button machine) for $1.50. Their are so many markdowns out there if you look for them.

Don't forget about buying wine (6 bottles) and getting an extra 10% off. They can be on sale or markdowns.

I ate breakfast at home versus buying something at the office.
Yesterday I went to the library and got a free week pass to the Field Museum.

Instead of driving to my boyfriend's house and back I rode my bike. I am exhausted (all up hill one way) but I'm hoping to get to the point where I will only need my car to drive to work.

We made a batch of soup today that will make lunches for two all week. Big savings. Also made meals using our crockpot which cuts down on costs quite a bit.

Today is a no drive, no spend, no gasoline expended day for me. I am staying home and cruising the net for even MORE frugal ideas.

Breakfast was a bagel from the mfg outlet store w/ cheese bought on sale. Lunch is salad w/ lettuce bought on sale and garbanzo beans & dressing bought on sale and used for another dish earlier in the week. Dinner will be boneless pork chop bought on clearance at 3 for $1.67 grilled w/ cauliflower and ?? I will still have 2 pork chops for other meals.

Yesterday it hit 98 degrees in our area. There's a current promotion going on in our area with a radio station that when the temperature hits 98 degrees you have 98 minutes to go to a couple of participating ice cream shops for free scoops of ice cream. I was home with the kiddos yesterday and right when they got up from their naps it was announce that the temp was 98. So I took the kids and myself right down the road to the ice cream shop and we all got free ice cream!

Unbelievable. No one has posted in a week.

i had planned on having a no drive/no spend day today. However, I realized I have a library book due today (fine would be only $0.25/day) that I cannot renew on line since it is a NEW limited time loan book.

However, the library is only 2 mi from my house and I can stop at Aldi & a fruit market (can anyone say 1/2 pt raspberries for $1.29 + CHEAP plain no fat yougurt from Aldi?). These 2 items will be breakfast at least 2 days this week AND both are in the SAME strip center so only 1 stop. I will also be able to check the $$ of gasoline at several stations and compare to my work location stations on Mon before I NEED to fill.

I am treating myself to steak tonight (from my freezer, bought at $4/lb). Have not eaten ANY red meat in several weeks, been all chicken, pork & fish (fish from freezer). Plan on balancing the $$ of steak w/ eating tuna salad ($0.66/6 oz can at CVS a few weeks ago) later in the week.
