Default Free socks!

I had a coupon for $5 from Famous Footwear rewards and got 2 prs of $7.99 "spa socks" for marked down to $5 for free. Who'd pay $7.99 for these, I have no idea, but the label says they're treated with aloe or something.
Sounds odd and oddly ideal for my sister-in-law's birthday bag

I haven't posted to this thread for sometime, but haven't stopped being frugal.

Today, I brought Saturday's dinner leftovers for lunch. That meal was eaten at a restaurant using a gift card we got at the holidays.

I also brought leftover homemade pizza from Thursday night to have for dinner tonight.

Ate leftovers for lunch. We didn't go out today, so no fuel used. Kept the heat down and most lights stayed off when not in use. (The kids are getting better at that)

My Father just sold his home and bought a Condo. It is a down size for him and he was going to donate a bunch of stuff to good will.

I stopped by to help him do some packing and I got a bunch of books, I love to read. I also got a wheelbarrow, and bunch of things for gardening. I cant wait until this summer to put in a garden I think this will really cut our fresh food costs down this coming year.

After I stopped by he sent out emails to the family to see if anyone else could use some of the things he was downsizing. He did not think anyone would want the stuff.

I haven't spent any money since Saturday. I am up to 9 No Spend Days this month. My goal is 15. I also have 2 no drive days, not bad considering I drive my son to and from school each day, run errands on Saturday and church on Sunday.

I just renewed my AAA membership. Rather than writing a check and mailing it in, I went to their website and signed up for automatic renewal billing to my credit card. They give a $5.00 discount just for doing that. Plus I get reward points for the charge.

I'm impressed with your frugality, Ima Saver and Steve! I didn't work today and it's been a no spend day thanks to the sign man not doing the signs right. So, we didn't spend $208 on signs or anything else.

We also had lima beans for supper. Yum! And there's enough left for me to take to work tomorrow for lunch so I won't buy lunch tomorrow. Yaaaay for cheap folks!

As I posted in my blog, yesterday I purchased a color laser printer that I've been planning to buy for some time. I've been watching prices for well over a year. The price finally drifted down to $249 on sale, but then I found a factory refurbished model for $69.99 and grabbed it. That saved me $180.

One other thing today. It didn't quite get done today, but concluded today. I used an Amazon gift card I earned doing surveys to order 4 tubes of my daughter's hair gel. They accidentally sent only 1 tube at first. I called customer service and they said they'd reship the order of all 4 tubes and to keep the 1 I had gotten as a bonus. The other 4 arrived today. So we got 5 tubes for the price of 4, plus we didn't spend anything out of pocket to get them, since it was survey income to begin with.

Make pizza from scratch. ~14 pies for one 5 lb whole wheat bag of flour.
I buy the flour on sale and toss it in the freezer.

Do you freeze the pizzas as is or bake them first? I have a friend who bakes them so that when they want them all she has to do is warm them in the oven but I freeze them unbaked.

Default Hit the big annual savings

Last week and every January (since 1981) the Shoprite stores have their annual Can-Can sale. I really stock up! They also started a big sale in the summer a number of years ago.

When the store was out of stock ( from me buying the last stock a couple of times) I get rain checks. This saves all the possible dates running to see if the item is in stock for a given day or even after the sale ended!

This week, the same printer got marked down to $49.99. I called the store today and they said to just bring in the receipt and they'll give me a refund of the difference. I'll stop there on the way home from work tomorrow to do that and save another $20 plus tax.

++++++

I freeze (they are just hunks of dough) all but two of them. One goes in the oven and the other goes into the refrig. I put/wrap the individual servings in regular non zipped sandwich bags.

So to make the pizza I have to ~ roll it out. I freeze just dough, no pre-made pies. I can add that one piece of dough makes about a 12 inch diameter pie (personal ) , with all my favorite healthy toppings

When I use the one in the refrig I take a new piece of dough out of the freezer and drop it into the refrig (where it's good for 2-3 days).

Default I have an MS Execel file

that lists the best months to buy things. I got most of the info from a female author about 20 years ago.

Shoot me an email stating you would like a copy of this file.

I just lost my whole original message as I got a message I could not post links until I write 15 posts...

So here I go breaking the rules.

We were very disappointed by the Can-Can sale this year. The regular prices at Wegman's were cheaper than the sale prices at Shop Rite, sometimes considerably cheaper. For example, my wife make her own spaghetti sauce using canned crushed tomatoes. They were almost $1.00/can at Shop Rite and just $0.39/can at Wegman's. So we stocked up there instead.

Mikee, why do you skip gears? Is 36 mpg better than most people get with that car?
