Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
yesterday i combined a trip to mtvernon for my dh eye exam ( on the medical card so free) and getting my check from work. last tiem they mailed it out, it didnt get here for almost a month. so im trying to do apts there every other week so i can get my check that way. so i saved in the overdraft fees for mom if mycheck hadnt come like it was suppsed to. then i drove to effingham for 2 counceler apts for my kids and dh. that saved me a bit of money by combineing things. at least i like to think it did. lol
have a good weekend

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Went to the outlet bakery store, picked up all the types of things I don't bake (english muffins, etc) and have a shelf in the freezer FULL for $16.00. Bought a coupon calendar from them for $1......entitling us to one free item each time we visit. Paid for itself this trip!

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
I did not buy something on my grocery list because it was not on sale. It will be months before we use up what we have (miracle whip) so I am going to try and find it on sale.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Contrary-nice one. I LOVE our grocery thift store, even though they no longer due 2 for a dollar loaves. (Well, the do for regular low end stuff, but they used to do it for dense hearty fabulous bread.)
I hung laundry in the house, coming up with creative solutions to no clothesline. I've spent nothing except on groceries and doctor copays for the last nine days.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
ran the dishwasher, using the no heat dry feature
turned off the hot water heaters after everyone got cleaned up this AM (do this daily now too.)
Using every last scrap of our turkey roast, making turkey salad spread today
finished up the latest "ugly blankie" today. My kids have named these, I crochet a blanket for them, using up all the leftover bits of yarn. Feel very frugal doing these! Keeps my knitting/crochet supplies neat too!
added coffee grounds to the garden bed (do this daily)

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
DVD Player broke and did not buy a replacement; rearranged and made do.
Making a crock pot concoction: Lentils, an old yam, and curry paste.
Cleaning out bathroom cabinet, which means I am less likely to stocjk items I already have.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Breakfast: Left over pizza dough- rolled out, added cinnamon, sugar and raisins...a little powdered sugar and milk...homemade cinnamon rolls in about 15 minutes!!
Lunch: Chicken Ceasars using the chicken from yesterday.
Dinner: 2 pork roasts in the crockpot...one will be used to make chili verde for dinner (with refried beans bought on sale and homemade spanish rice) and the other will be pulled pork sandwiches tomorrow night!
Staying home today to do laundry, organize coupons and get the grocery list made out.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Today I did:
cleaning with lights off - used free outside lights
took a shower with no lights - we did not need them.
Only bought milk and soda at work. Did not buy stuff we did not need
Made up chicken salad from leftover chicken - had for dinner and will have some more for my lunches

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
-Breakfast: cereal here
-Got a free drink from Starbucks courtesy of a coupon I got in the paper over the weekend.
-I'm about to finish up several bags I've made -- which is potential income later on (2 bags x $40, 1 bag x $60-65 = $140)
-Lunch, making a turkey sandwich on a bagel, using stuff we bought while grocery shopping Sunday
-Going to return a pair of shorts that I bought at Old Navy last week that I have since decided against, so I'll get my $20 back.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Just got a job yesterday and I start today, so I had to go out and buy clothes for my work uniform (black pants, black socks, white button up shirt, black tie). I got the socks and tie at wal-mart, but had to buy the shirt and pants at JCPenney because for some reason Wal-mart's button-up shirts don't have buttons going up to the top, lolm and they had only black jeans or black capris. Anyways, I was going to get 2 shirts and 2 pairs of pants, but decided to just get 1 of each because I have been dieting and exercising and am losing weight so I realized I'd just have to buy more soon, so I will just use the 1 pair of each until I need my next size down!

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Spent an extra minute this morning making a peanut butter sandwich for lunch rather than spending money in the cafeteria.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
I stayed at home and ate dinner that I fixed last night!! That makes two nights this week. Today I went to a customer appreciation day and got two free hamburgers (one for my dh) and some cake. [Automated by GetSmile]

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Well done Ima...
My frugal thing I did today was to take water to the beach instead of buying a drink there. I also planned for us to go straight after breakfast so I wouldn't have to fork out money for food.
