Reheated Pizza. Very Fast. Very Cheap. Very much not the favoured option.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
We budget $50/week for groceries, and we ended up spending $40 instead - this should cover all of the meals that we have planned for the week!

Supper of leftover Roast Beastie (free from Dad) & Homemade Egg Noodles w/bread and butter and a .39 can of fruit cocktail = a very tasty and very frugal supper after a day of digging my truck out of the iceberg it was incased in.

I skipped lunch, kept the heat off and used my $4 off CVS coupon.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Kept the heat at 63 most of today, made the girls lunches for school, and since they are all cheering for a BB game tonight, made them sandwhiches and a snack to take instead of stopping to eat on the way. Didn't send any money with them, so they will be more or less 'forced' to eat the sack lunch or go without.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
I made a casserole and used ground turkey instead of ground beef (healthier and cheaper). I used half the meat that the recipe called for and 50% more pasta. DH didn't even notice that there was less meat than usual.
Made coffee at home to bring to work so I wouldn't be tempted to get one at Dunkin Donuts when my boss goes at 3:00.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Today, I was Little Miss Domesticity:
1) I cut open an empty toothpaste tube, cleaned it and cut it into tiny squares. Punctured the center of each square. Now I have enough homemade frosty silver sequins to decorate a holiday ornament. It will be a puffy, pillow-like light blue star. The non-silver side of the sequins look cool, too. Could use that side if the project were diferent.
2) Since I mentioned it on another thread, I was motivated cut two matching blue and white checked men's shirts into napkin size. Might sew the edges later tonight, but probably tomorrow. New stack of cloth napkins.
3) Put out my winter sofa pillows---they are the same as my summer pillows. I just have winter theme panels that I cover them with each year. When spring comes, I open the stitching and pull out the pillow, wash the covers and put them away for the next 9 months. No need to store away bulky pillows, yet I get to enjoy special themed ones. I also have Thanksgiving themed covers, but I forgot to put those on this year.
4) Re-glued the handle on a candy dish. It doesn't show, but I'm not sure if I can trust the meld.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
My husband's friend gave him about 30 pounds of venison in big frozen chunks about 8 pounds apiece. I thawed the first one and made ground venison. I made a huge meatloaf and re-packaged the rest in smaller packages. I kept the discarded fat and sinewy parts- ground that up for cat food. The feral cats are happy.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Today I did a little leftover magic for lunch:
leftover spaghetti sauce with meat + leftover corn + leftover steak + one can of tomato sauce + one can of beans + spices = chili for two adults, two kids, and one bowl leftover.

Well, I stayed home last night and I am eating at the christmas party tonight. So I have saved money from two nights not eating out.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
OK- my stepson and his girlfriend came to dinner last night. They do not eat venison, they do not eat fish, they do not eat anything BUT chicken breast- guess what we primarily eat? venison, fish, and chicken legs. So- to avoid feeding them all (including my husband) 2 chicken breasts apiece- I made Chinese stirfry with a TON of vegetables (Aldi's) and 2 large chicken breasts!!!, a salad, and assorted breads. HeHe I served them all for about $6.00!!!!

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
I'm making/packing food instead of eating out today. I started drinking tea instead of coffee *big* saver, both in price and calories (no cream needed there!).
