got lunch for free, brought own coffee and french press to work so I can make it here, got flowers for my bday (early) that I can use in my thanksgiving centerpiece, got a starbucks gc from the office, so if I am tempted by the evil one (LOL!) at least I will not be spending my own money!

Cleaned my own house and made the decision to COOK turkey dinner rather than spend $13.95 per person to go out... although I know my TIME is worth something...

Some frugal things I did today was - ate Monday's leftovers for lunch, and we're eating Tuesdays leftovers for dinner. I am line drying my clothes, turned down the heat to 60 degrees. I'm using up some leftover bananas to make some banana bread (request by dh).

Cool Re: What frugal thing did you do today?

I open the windows blinds on the east side of my tradler early this morning to let the sun heat up the house then when the sun moved to the west side
I also open up the blinds on that side.

Can't let free heat past me by.

I sold my car at a very low price to a family in need. Not exactly frugal for me, but it was a tremendous feeling to know that my old car was such a blessing for someone else.

I originally was going to say not a darn thing, but if cooking the Thanksgiving meal at home is being frugal, then I'm OK. Plus, I'm cooking from scratch -- not getting the stuff already fixed at the supermarket.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

We and several friends of ours who are not going out-of-town to visit family for Thanksgiving are getting together for the holiday meal. Not only will it be fun to get together, it turns out to be frugal as well as we each couple/family is bringing a few food items each. So I guess you could say that the frugal thing I did today is eat!

Turned heat off today (was 72 outside). DH plowed the garden for me for next year-doubled it in size. By plowing it ourselves (with help from a friend) we saved about $125. By doubling it, we can increase our food grown next year. I can, so we plant in large quanities. Ate leftovers from yesterdays feast.

Coming from a big family, ten kids, I was very touched by your caring and generosity. In my family we always help each other out and I've done the same thing when my daughter hit bottom. Pay it forward.............Bless you.

Gosh, have I missed the blogs!!! I haven't been on in ages. Family emergency. Worse, I haven't been to the dump store!! I'm getting back my footing and am ready to start decorating the house for Christmas. I am making these gorgeous wool felted mittens that have an embroidered design on them and fur cuffs. They make a lovely Christmas hang-up somewhere in a house. Most of my close family will get them. I usually just send cards and phone calls to those far away. I'm also making my vintage paper mache' dolls for the family membersup here. Most of my handmade gifts don't cost me anything right now as I have an extensive sewing craft room....I collect fabrics, notions ect....everywhere on sale all the time. Plus, I make these items to sell. I love filling my family-bags with lots of homemade gifts and baked goods. I'm always so pleased that they look forward to seeing what I made for them each year! I would love to hear other homemade ideas from anyone that likes to share!!!! Pattie

Let's see. I turned the AC all the way up so it won't come on. Turned the water heater off. I have a little switch on top of the water heater, put their by FPL when they hooked us up to the Uncall Credit. We save 9.50 a month off our electricity. I also went out, did all of my errands, and didn't stop to eat anything. Also, by driving in a circular fashion to hit each spot, you save gas.

Ate leftovers for dinner instead of going out to eat (which we both really wanted to do), wrapped up in blankets and cuddles on the couch instead of turning the heat on, and sat reading on the couch together until about 1 am instead of watching tv (saved electricity).

No heat yesterday, last night or today.

I actually had the windows all open to air the place out. Very frugal, but on the last day in November?
