I had boiled 3 eggs this weekend for the week. Well, I misjudged and the one I cracked open for a snack today was very undercooked. I just reboiled the other 2.

Almost went to the grocery store, but made do with what I still have on hand instead.

I am not going anywhere today and not shopping on-line or anything. I'm going to do a little cleaning, and then go read a library book before I make supper with stuff I already have on hand!

Used coupons to get free bags of dog and cat food. Will give the cat food to our neighbor who just got a new kitten. If she can't use the cat food I know the animal shelter will be glad to take it. Also went to store and just bought items on "special" plus it's the first Wednesday of the month so I also got an extra 10% off (senior day).

I stocked up on day old bread at Walmart- 6 packages and bought ice cream/sorbet bars - 5 packages at the dollar store. I won't need to go into either store for a couple of weeks. I bought produce from the local farmer. They sell a bag of vegetables for $1. I got 5 zucchini for $1. lynclarke

I stayed home all day, so spent no money. My husband and I both had leftovers for lunch.

I stayed home for most of the day and I only spent 35 cents for a newspaper.

Also I'm going to walk around my house looking for "wall worts." I just read an article in Real Simple magazine about how much dollars and energy are drained out of our household by unused applicances.
So that's my latest push: to cut energy consumption.

Bought sunblock at drugstore and used the $2 off store coupon and took the puppy to the dog groomers and used a $3 off coupon. Had leftovers for lunch. And only used one paper towel today. I'm trying to get to the point that I just won't ever use them (we have plenty of rags!)

I've also been trying to cut back on paper towel use. Sometimes for extra mileage, I rip them in half.

take care!

Thanks! I'm glad that I'm not the only one.

By the way...this thread has already saved me money.

This morning, I removed a shirt from the dryer... It was crushed with wrinkles. (I should have stayed up to remove the shirt when it was still hot)

I thought about just sending it and a few others shirts to the drycleaner for a quick press...And then I though: Nnoooo! I will press it myself and put a few notes in the Frugal thread.
ciao

I opened an online account at EmigrantDirect where I will be getting a rate of 5.15%.

I found 3 pennies and I collected another .50 cents in deposits
added this to my $20 challenge jar.

I didn't buy my morning coffee $2.27.

I am just a brand new baby saver but yesterday I read about how plugged in things drain power...YOU have heard about this? Is that the case with all appliances and plug ins or just those that have the lights flashing? I am trying to find out about this. My family just laughed at me and my husband got mad. Is it true?

I will look for the issue of Real Simple, which has information about energy draining appliances.

It was the July issue. As soon as I find it, I will log on with details.
best wishes!!!

I had leftovers for lunch. I'm not going anywhere today so no gas. I ran my errands yesterday and took my mom grocery shopping when I went so it was one trip for both of us.

I ate a garden tomatos for lunch that were free from my son in law instead of going across the street and spending $4 on fried califlower. Saved money AND calories!
