Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
I let my clothes sit in the washer with the door open for several hours. It saved some time in the dryer. I did not turn on the a/c until my husband came home from work.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Today I trimmed my front yard trees by myself instead of finding someone to pay to do it for me.
Guys - this leads to a question. I live in the desert and spend a lot of time watering a lawn that eats up water resources. I'm really thinking about installing desert landscaping. It will be a big initial investment, but will eventually itself off. Anyone know anything about desert landscaping?

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Excellent garage saling. I'll detail on my blog later, but items of note:
Drying rack, 50 cents.
A huge stack of greeting cards, and around 5 packs of specialty picture/glossy inkjet paper, and printer labels, total 50 cents.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
DH and I saved 43% today on a sink and fixtures just by asking if the floor model could be discounted.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
I've been at home sick for most of this week so I didn't drive hardly any, saving lots of gas. Does that count?

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
My husband, the "supreme" car washer, would disagree!! He spends about 6 hours a week washing the car.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
Spent no money. Did come clothes mending. Made some popsicles: some hot water in 2 almost empty jam jars, shake, add fat-free plain yogurt and shake again, pour into garage sale popsicle mold. Ate based on using up items that needed using. Made another blender soup: spinach this time.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
i cleaned off a shelf in my closet and my bookshelfs and put the books in the laundry room with a free sign on it. this was frugal for my closet space and frugal for my neighbors who have already taken most of the pile. i didnt turn the A/C on until i was actually hot. then only to 68. i rinsed my dishes in cold water before putting them in the dishwasher. i was amazed i never thought of this before. they still get clean with the d/w.

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
we stayed home instead of partying, because we have a wedding and reception to attend this weekend.. so, we are doing our weekend chores today.... we pressure washed most of the house today, cleaned all outside windows... installed air conditioner in kitchen window... cost to us, 3 used newspapers, vinegar and water, water and gas for commercial pressure washer, old rags, elbow grease... plus all the neighbors sat in our yard with lawn chairs, so, a nice visitation by all.. i think we saved well over a cpl. hundred bucks at least....

Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
We Decided To Wash And Detail The Car After Tomorrow's Wedding... It Is Supposed To Rain Anyway... Ima I Used To Own Vette's Too, And I Know I Wiped Them Down After Each Outing In The Garage Or I Could Not Rest.. I Also Kept A Nice Clean Sheet On Top Of The Vette While It Was Cooled Down And Parked In The Garage To Keep Dust Off.. Fun Times, Cleaning A Car......i Used Q-tips And Soft Toothbrushes To Clean Every Crevice..
