@kenyantykoon, is that like uhhh, stealing the wireless connection or are you a student there and it comes with your enrollment?

I'm thinking if you are just highjacking it? I'd be worred about bad karma.

Shopped the basement pantry today for my groceries I needed.

Pulled coffee that I paid $3.95 for - cheapest I can find right now $4.97 for the big cans.

Ranch Salad Dressing that I paid $.69 for - cheapest I can find right now at my grocer? $1.39.

How do I know? I write price & date on my groceries as I bring them in the house and before they go into pantry or cupboards. FIFO. First In, First Out.

I needed stamps. Instead of driving to the post office, I left a check for a book of stamps in my mail box and the carrier left them for me. I have stayed home all day, used no gas and spent no money.

Default Good for you!

I always watch for chicken breasts to go on sale at my local grocery store, and then I stock my freezer with enough to last for a few weeks. I do the same with ground beef and pork chops. Then I prepare my meals on a budget.

A store I shop at on the first Tuesday of the month gives a 25% discount. I told the clerk an excuse why I couldn't make it then and if could give me the discount now. And surprisingly she agreed and I ended up saving $5. I have been finding you don't always need coupons etc to get discounts and sometimes can get them by asking, especially in smaller specialty type stores.

My wife bought me a $25 gift card to Subway last month for my BDay. Since I barely eat out during the week, I have plenty left on it. I have a coupon for Subway that gives me a 6" with the purchase of 6" and drink. Will use gift card and get two days' lunch with no money out of my pocket.

I ate McDonalds and resisted the temptation to upsize my meal. Does that count as being frugal?

I visited Macdonalds again today.

This time, I had takeaways. I did not buy a meal. Instead, I figured that I could get a bottled drink from the grocery store. And I did just that..spent around $1.50 for a 1.5L bottle of soft drink.

I bought a box of 10 cards in a box for $2.99 (varied subjects). They were very nice Hallmark cards. I was going to have to buy 4 sympathy cards anyway - so I'm way ahead of the game.

Found $37.37 worth of pocket change around the house! I rolled it all, saving the $.07 it would cost to put it in a money counting machine. Although I'm wondering...I paid $2.75 for the coin rolls in the first place, so am I really saving by not using the machines?

Some banks will give you coin wrappers for free, if you ask. Hope this helps!

This is something I have been doing for about a month:

At my work we have paper recycle bins and we scan most of our stuff into a computer database. Since I print coupons from the internet for items I use I have been collecting these sheets if they are not sensitive (fax cover sheets, requests for supplies, MSDS.......). At least this saves me a BUNCH of paper.

This week I stocked up on dishwashing liquid when it was on sale for 69 cents a bottle.

This morning I'm building my compost pile bit by bit as I normally do thru the year - today's addition? Banana peel, coffee grinds, and a small bite-size tomato that accidently went past it's prime on the window sill.

Wink

I stocked up on buy-one-get-one items at the grocery store and paired some of them up with manufacturer coupons! Yay for planning ahead!
