Didn't go anywhere. We joined Netflix and will receive 31 days free. We also be be able to download streaming video throught our computer which is hooked up to the TV. We just got the $8.99 price plus $2. extra a month for blu-ray discs. This will save me from going to my local grocery store to pick up the movies and returning them. Plus we can watch as many movies as we want on the computer. A good deal. This will give us one movie at a time but that's all we need with the other available movies to watch on the computer.

Unplugged a power strip in my bedroom at home since I'm living at college this summer. Take that phantom energy!

Won't save me any money, but it feels good to help my parents out just a tad.

Thumbs up

Tomorrow we are having potluck at work,

Since I was the first to put my name on the sign up sheet I got to bring the soda.

TODAY I picked up three bottles of pepsi-soda at CVS for 3/$4 earn $1 ECB. I used ECB's that I had so I spent $3 and will get a very nice BBQ'ed lunch tomorrow and possibly leftovers to take home for dinner.

Not bad for $3.

Finished spreading on my new garden the huge pieces of cardboard the bar owner down the street had when he unloaded his new bamboo tiki bar. These pieces are now at the bottom of my sheet composting piles for five large garden beds. His trash, my treasure.

The kids and I have been hitting the library on a weekly basis. My son reads about 500 pages/wk, so we go through books pretty fast. If I had to buy the books, WOW that would be a fortune!! I've also been picking up various finance books to help me mentally stay on track, so that's gotta be saving me money too.

I was already hot and sticky after playing softball, so on the 30 minute drive back to my place, I didn't turn on the air conditioning. It was basically like sitting in a sauna (about 90 and humid today in southern Iowa), but I probably got a 1-2 mpg better in the old Civic.

I was going to lift and shower as soon as I got here anyway, so why not?

I spent 10 minutes planning what I NEED to do this weekend (3 day for me) so I could group my stopps in any single direction.

Today I have a CD maturing that I will NOT let roll. On the same travel pattern I will stop & pay a cc bill, check out some things at Best Buy ($$ is saved-planed spend), and I will go a bit south (1 mi) to get a FREE coffee at Borders and spend $7 on enough cooked meat, fish, chicken for all my lunches & dinners for the nest week.

Sat I will hit up several produce markets for their deals, CVs,WAG, Dollar Tree and end my day at DD's for the 4th bday party for my granddaughter.

I turned down offers for Pizza Hut at lunch and DQ just now. Not only saved $ but several thousand calories too.

Turned leftover olives, onion and tomatoes from tacos into a salad by adding pasta and dressing.

Hung clothes on the line instead of using the dryer.

Cut out a pair of shorts for the girls out of a new curtain from the thrift store for a quarter...
