Went to the zoo (free) for Sunday entertainment on a annual membership that we got at an unbelievable price in Dec.2008. Close to home too. Not much gas.

Made chicen noodle soup frop leftover chicken and a bunch of odds and ends vegetables. Sure beats the heck out of canned soup and a lot cheaper too.

I had a gift card for Honey Baked ham plus some change left over from my last purchase with them that I intended to use sooner than this. Because I bought a half-ham, I also received a green bean casserole side for free. So, both items were literally free for me thanks to the gift cards and specials. So, my holiday dinner will not cost me that much and we can freeze half of the section for another time and can use the bone in making soup.

I had 5 different errands today. I first deposited a check I received from my Mom. I then went to Walgreens and made 2 separate purchases. One is for a rebate of Printer ink refill and a rebate (free) of one a day supplement pak. Both items were $12.19 on my credit card and I will receive $8.99 rebate thus ony paying $3.20 for both items.

I went to CVS, Publix and Winn Dixie. My bills should have been $92.71. I had $49.08 in advertized savings (many were bOGO free). and i had coupons totalling $5.30. So, I paid a total of $47.33 for all of the items that I bought.

Bought my son a new pair of shoes on sale 1/2 price. Then I took him to the mall's play place, it's free and we add lots of fun. Tomorow I'm making chicken rice soup and making single servings for later.

This is to SavingNut:

Maybe you can share the website where you can print out the invitations and envelopes. I know that it would be a big help to those with children who spend a bundle on invitations.

I brought my breakfast and lunch to work and drank office made coffee to save money. Yes, the breakfast and lunch aren't the healthiest, but for $9 bucks, I have about 7 meals.

We used the celery which is starting to go limp as inspiration for soup. It will be a heavily celery flavored cream soup, topped with lots of fresh green onions from the garden. A couple carrots, potatoes, and an onion will get blended in with it, too. A sprig of mint on the side will give a contrasting surprise taste.

Like every other day, I brown bagged my lunch. Not buying lunch or or going for a morning coffee can really add up. Before work, I had a cup of store brand coffee at home.

After my first failed attempt several months ago, I succeeded in making my own bread the other day. The family liked it. Will be making more today.

Today I hung 2 load of loundry on the line. Ate leftovers.
