Default AAA Discounted gift cards

I was recently reviewing the benefits I get from being a AAA member (to justify the $123 renewal fee). For any members out there, AAA offers gift cards to about 50 retailers/restaurants for 5% off. You can get a $25 gift certificate for $23.75. I know it's not much, but better than nothing, if you'd be buying them anyway...

Go to www.aaa.com and search under member benefits...

Even the smallest of discounts help. Thank you for your post. I've been a member for two (2) years and never visited the AAA website!

You should definitely check out their website. Most people know about their travel planning, but they offer so much more! Based on your location, they offer discounts on local attractions (e.g., college bball games, minor league baseball, orchestras), they offer online savings at various merchants, as well as cell phone, life and auto insurance quotes. Taking advantage of some of these helps soften the blow of the annual fee...

The only thing I ever used AAA for was the free towing. Now that is included in my car insurance for about $12, so I have not had AAA for over 30 years.

With two post teen daughters in college....it's the best money I've spent for peace of mind.
Daughters have used multiple times for lost keys....locked keys in car...even helped a friend who had locked his keys in car (as long as you have card with you, AAA will help). Also had car towed from college (broKe down in parking lot). Have not yet had to use for "emergency gas" or "jump start" or "tire change"....but probably will. With daughters on the road alot....it gives ole dad a little better sleep at night.

I use AAA for the towing as well. However, if I break down in my county, someone almost an hour away comes out to tow me. No towing companies in the county are signed up with AAA.

Be careful about this as I have heard that if you use the towing from your insurance it is treated like a claim and your rates can increase.
