Went shopping several places, I never use change, just my pennies. I had $5.10 for my change jar, so I should have about $56.10 in the jar.

I know other people are throwing their money in a jar. i read where one person took their coins in, all wrapped up, and they got unwrapped and put in the machine. That is what my bank does now.

My change jar never gets to full, I rob hubby of his change nightly (I never have/need cash) and dump it in the jar, all the change gets deposited into an ING account that I'm saving for our 20th anniversary in 8 years. In 4 months I've managed to put away 142.69, hey, it's a start!

I think that is pretty good, frugalfarmwife. I go and get all the change off the dash of my husband's van.

Just a note to anyone cashing in their change.

Coinstar charges 8% BUT they have a new deal with amazon.com, where if you select to convert your change into an amazon.com gift certificate, instead of having the store cash your receipt, they charge NOTHING. And, you don't end up with change at the end!

i rolled my money last night, was tired of unpacking!

I had 30+ in quarters, 18+ in Dimes, 5+ in nickels and 4+ in pennies and thi sis from August when i last empited it. Last year when i emptied them ( i keep the seperate depding on the coins) i had over 2000! That was before i started with the seperation thing. Much easier to roll when they are kept seperate.

I added $3.35 today to my jar for a total of $74.50. I wonder how close it will be, when they pour it in the banks counter. I bet it doesn't match.
