Default Best buy warranties

Just a heads up. The reason when you purchase anything at Best Buy that the employees really push the warranties is that they are the only thing that they can still make a commision on. Just thought I'd let you guys know!

Yup!! I totally agree. I worked at an electronics store during college in the camera department and we sold an extended warranty. Got 11% commission on that plus a fairly decent bonus if we sold a certain percentage.

Yes, and rarely are the warranties worth the price. Check your credit card. Many will provide the same warranty if you purchase the item with their credit card.

BB didn't want to honor the terms of their warranty on DH's car stereo - they claimed the first "repair" was just a cleaning and didn't count as a repair. A repair is a repair! I don't care if you just had to clean it to get it to work. Too bad for them that on the last (should be final) repair they did, the factory sent the stereo back minus the volume button! OOPS! Out of the store he went with his brand new fancy stereo! We certainly do not shop there anymore.

They push the warranties as that is where they make the most money at. Most pc's are sold at cost or a loss and they make it up in accessories and warranties. Many times the profit margins on warranties is close to 60%.
