Default Double Your Money

A few years ago Dh and I were saving money for a new oven. We made up a game that we called 'Double Your Money'. He started by putting 1 penny in a jar and the next day I had to put in 2. The day after that he added in 4, and so on. We took the money out of our own spending money and once we got to $5.00 in the challenge, we started over with a penny. Amazing how quickly the money added up...and the new oven didn't burn cookies (I knew it wasn't the fault of my baking skills!).

That is not a bad idea...I might stay away from the pennies though.. Like start with 5 cents, then go to 10, then 20. and work it till we got to the $10 mark. Might not be a bad idea... I'll ask my DH what he thinks about that idea..

I was going through the coin fund and just theother day I had gone to the credit union to score some free coin wraps and found I was just 4 quarters shot of the 10$ roll.. so the money saving thing is sweet! I'm using that to help pay for the cable bill tommorrow...
