Default Good Gift for a Future Mother-In-Law?

Same problem as the other ones. What do you buy someone who has everything and buys everything?

Do you like to do crafts? There is a beautiful counted cross stitch for mothers in law.

I have the same problem with my mother in law. If your fiance can help, sentimental things can be appreciated. Photos in frame, etc.

Mine likes perfume, but expensive.

Sentimental is good. If she has old photos maybe you can have some restored? Or have some old home movies transferred to DVD?

Take great care of her 'baby' Mothers love that, but for the gift, sentimental is usually good. Gets easier when you have kids, GMAs love sentimental kid 'stuff' (handprints, paintings, ect)

In the past, I've given mine a super-soft scarf, a religious necklace, and a chocolate-smelling bath kit. This year I'm thinking of getting her some Avon lotion that I know she loves, or some L'Occitane ice hand cream gel (since she's always too warm), or a unique cookbook. Just like SO, she spends way too much on me, but I try not to feel guilty, because I just can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on every person on my list.
