I run or swim for about an hour a day 4 days a week, then usually do some stretching / pushups and such one other day a week.

I enjoy running and swimming so it's not a chore for me, but it did take some time to get used to setting aside that much time a week.

I think the 30 minutes depends on what your goals are. -- weight loss vs cardiovascular health.

I exercise 5 days a week:

Year 'round:
  • run 4-7 miles
  • lift weights (45 minutes)

Winter:
  • swim 3 days a week (1500 meters)

Summer:
  • bike to work 3-4 days per week (19 miles/1 hour)

Probably averages out to about 4 hours a week. Keeps me healthy and allows me to eat pretty much whatever I want.

Enough for what? It's enough to keep your heart aerobically healthy. However, if you're training for a specific sports event, it probably isn't enough. It all depends upon your goals.

I hit the gym 4 days a week. I'm usually there an hour to an hour and a half each time.
