Default Enrolled Agent

Hello,

I am currently a paramedic, but I am in the process of changing careers. I just finished a Bachelor's of Science degree with an accounting major. So far I am having zero luck finding a full time job. However, I am doing seasonal work as a tax preparer for Jackson Hewitt.

I am looking into becoming an enrolled agent. If you have taken the enrolled agent exam, do you have any advice? Which study materials would you recommend? Did the EA certification make you more marketable?

Thanks.
