I am looking for a durable, light, upright vacuum and I would like to spend less than $300. I also don't like the bagless varieties because I think they are really messy. I have heard that dyson's aren't all they are cracked up to me...hoovers can be good but are hit or miss...and have heard mostly good things about oreck's.
Any recommendations? Thanks! ![]() |

Awesome thank you all so much! Monkey mama I heard that kenmore makes an amazing canister one...so I am considering it..it is just that my townhouse has a lot of stairs...

Oh - it is perfect for the stairs!! What else would you use on stairs? I think I love it more since we have stairs. I personally love not hassling with the bags, etc. |

Monkeymama,
Do you know how it does on hardwood and vinyl? Thanks! |

It works well on hardwood and vinyl. I haven't used it on wood, but sure it is fine.
