Default Looking a little closer at a small tax exempt foundation

How do I investigate a very small tax exempt foundation?

I'd like to know who is on the board of directors, who historically has been on the board, how they are elected (can they be appointed?), whether they have paid staff, whether anyone on the board is also paid staff.

I'd like to know about their finances. How much of that is public info? --Can I see who made what donations, how the budget was spent, how much money was raised through what means?

Secretary of State's office for the state where the non-profit is based.

For example, you would contact the Ohio Secretary of State to check out the non-profit that I am involved with since it is based in Ohio.
