Default Goodbye Netflix

Let's see here...

Bad economy with people struggling to make ends meet, warm summer months ahead with time to spend outdoors, and Netflix ups its premium for Blu-ray subscribers by an additional $6/month.

WTF?

Goodbye Netflix. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to say "no" to your increase and cancel my account. I have a feeling there will be many others who will do the same.

We love Netflix and actually use it a lot more during the summer when all the TV shows are in reruns and we have more free time (no school, homework or other activities). We rent DVDs, not Blu-ray, so I guess the change doesn't affect us. How about switching back to DVDs? I believe Blu-ray players play both.

Nah, Blockbuster offers Blu-ray titles without a premium. Going to sign up with them later tonight. Either that or just rent from their store.

I've had problems with Netflix Blu-ray titles. Blu-ray is sensitive to scratches, and the postal service is notorious for damaging the discs. About 20% of the Blu-ray discs I get from Netflix I have to return as damaged because they won't play on my player.

That's lousy. Sounds like they need to design better packaging for shipping the blu-ray discs. I'm sure they will as they get more popular and more people complain.

We use Blockbuster. Suggesting to dh he watch a DVD as opposed to Blu Ray is blasphame - not going to happen. If you have a blu ray player you want to enjoy it!!!

Just wanted to say we haven't had any problems. Though lord knows why. Not much nice to say about our post office and the packaging seems pretty minimal. Or maybe he just gets all the Blu Rays in store - I don't even know. Being able to make exchanges in store (& rent games for free) is a NICE touch.

That being said, Blockbuster has some issues. They've been changing a lot of stuff around. My dh was ranting and raving about it all weekend (in one ear and out the other for me; I'm not a movie person overall). If I remembered what he was ranting about I'd tell you. They've changed their in-store exchange policy or something.
