Well, not quite, but I did get your attention!
Missouri has a program where the state department of natural resources will by seeds from kids (and adults) to replant in the conservation departments tree program. They don't pay a lot, but it looks like it would be a good project for younger kids to learn that you have to work for money. Before you laugh, it people can pick up cans for cash, why not seeds/acorns or nuts??? Here is what they had for MO for last year. In MO it changes year to year. My source also stated that most states have a similar program. ************************************************** ****** "You may already be familiar with the DNR's Seed-Buying Program during the fall. We dropped some acorns off recently and they said they were lacking in the usual amounts they receive. Below is some info we have received regarding their program, in case you may be interested in participating. Should you decide to participate, you will need to bring your own containers of the seeds only--no debris--they weigh it and send you a check for the amount you sell to them. When our kids clean up the acorns in our yard and get paid for it, plus help the Conservation Dept plant trees elsewhere, we're very grateful!
