I'm not exactly a fan of Michael Moore, as I do think that he only documents the facts that support his opinions. However, I also think that he may be on to something. In this case, it's Norway.
I've got some concerns regarding with some of the details in the video, but overall, isn't that the kind of life that we're all hoping for? Put another way, would I pay 30%, 40%, or even 50% in taxes for that kind of lifestyle? In a word? YES! After all, isn't that why we work so hard in the first place? So that we can ultimately enjoy a life like that? I know I do. What do you think? |

I think this fellow sums up my opinion...
"When you claim a right to anything - food, education, shelter, health care, vacations, anything - you are claiming the right to force me to pay for it. And nobody has that right." Now I do happen to feel the right and obligation to pay for food and shelter of some sort for all, regardless of their effort, but I do not feel anyone should have to work for my vacation...at least not at the point of a gun. Sure it would be lovely if we all worked together so we all had a great standard of living...but I will not demand any portion of Bill Gates salary...just because he makes more doesn't mean I have any claim to it. |

Hmm, good points. I didn't think of it that way. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of, "I am willing to pay more taxes for better government benefits."
