Default Bizarre story of the week

Wading Pool Drain Sucks Out Girl's Small Intestine

Abigail Taylor was severely injured Friday when she sat over an open drain hole in a wading pool at the Minneapolis Golf Club. According to a posting by her family on the Caring Bridge Web site, the drain's powerful suction tore out part of her intestinal tract....

However, the golf club's general manager told the St. Paul Pioneer Press he didn't think anything was wrong with the pool. He referred questions to the attorney for the club's insurance company, who declined to comment.

I heard about this dangeryears ago,and instructed my kids to never go near pool drains, if they feel suction in a pool they are to not play in that spot, also girls long hair can get sucked in and pull them into the bottom and drown them

Yeah, heard that on the news. Very unfortunate incident, but a worthwhile PSA since we're in the middle of summer.

Scary thing is, she's not the first I've heard of this happening (nor does it have to involved suction.... Apparently erm over-exertion is sometimes enough).
