Default Need woman help! fast-totally OT (I mean really I wont be offended if you delete it)

I finally returned to the world of womenhood, and ugh is it a heavy flow, I have to drive to pa tomorrow night, and no way I am going to make it if we have to stop every hour or two..does anyone know any natural remedies (preferably that I have on hand) that will help ease up the flow at least long enough for me to pack, and drive?

or a midwife board or something, I have none, mine disbanded..and I never bothered to get a new one, cause, well...I am not pregnant

this isn't going to be what you want to hear, so i'm sorry in advance! absolute worst case if you can't find anything else whatsoever: try a depends... perhaps try a pad/plug combo instead and see if that helps?

don't be sorry, any help is worth trying!

Since I am sitting on a towel now, anything has to be better than that! although I was told to avoid tampons for the first.

and glad my plight is making you giggle!

Well, I think I will try a hot shower before cold, just sounds worth it regardless of help.

thanks for the suggestion!

I looked online and found: It is helpful to have a healthy diet. To get results, doctors recommend making dietary changes 14 days before your period starts.

apparently if I wanted to effect this with diet I would have though of it 2 weeks ago..when I was having that nice glass of wine..oops.

I find a soaking in a very hot bath then using overniight pads helps.Don't forget to pack the Ibrupren if you're cramping. Good Luck. I know how hard this can be.

Broken Arrow you should try this sometime. It is very annoying and can be extremely painful.

Are you cramping a lot? Some months I really cramp which makes Aunt Flo extra heavy. I've found that taking some ibuprofen eases the cramping which lightens it up. Use extra super overnight pads and wear black pants like someone else mentioned.

since yo'ull be driving and can't use a heating pad, try one of the 'heat wraps' you see advertised for back pain etc. i've used them before for cramps and they're lovely: took a bunch to argentina last year.

Well oddly enough..no cramping......but I wonder if the heat would help the flo?

the shower sure did, I even managed to get some work done.

and BA, no don't go trying it, enjoy your right as a man to pee standing up and avoid this! (though know you will never feel the joy of a baby growing inside you....)

Um... no thank you. I think I'm better off not knowing some things eh? I didn't mean any offense though. I'm sure it isn't easy to cope at all.

Princess Perky...Sorry, I didn't mean to make light of it, believe me. I know from experience what it's like, and it's not fun. Must have just been the frame of mind I was in when I read BA's reply.

For the record, I wasn't giggling that you're having a hard time with this. I was giggling that I couldn't resist clicking on a thread that basically says, "Girls only! Boys stay out!" But that clearly didn't come through from my initial response. In any case, I do remember my ex having very bad bouts, but I've never talked to her about how she copes with it... and that's why I got nothin'.

Princess, hope you feel better soon...

BA, you are delightful as ever! My brother had a "no girls allowed sign on his bedroom door", which basically drew me to enter as frequently as I possibly could, do not think of a pink elephant syndrome!

To be fair, those signs are for your protection as well. That is, if you want to prevent any self-induced retinal injuries from catching us in the middle of our air guitar sessions wearing nothing but our underwear and dad's necktie wrapped around our head.
