Another PayPayl Scam?

This email confirms that you have paid LWPELECTRONICS (sales@lwpelectronics.com) $474.99 USD using PayPal.

This credit card transaction will appear on your bill as "PAYPAL LWPELECTRONICS*".

I have not made any purchase through Ebay in ages and just went to my account and there is no transaction showing in the history.

Just another trick to try to get me to click on the link?

I've got that one. Found it funny after I stopped being terrified!

Why funny? They sent it to an account paypal and ebay know nothing about. Pfffffffft.

I've learned to go straight to the www.paypal.com or www.ebay.com to check out any strange messages that say they are from them.

Oh good! It startled me a bit more when I tried to get in to check my credit card and the page wasn't found. I suppose just a coincidence, but it was a bit unsettling.

this happened to me too...it is a scam, I forward the link to paypal customer service and send the original spammer an email stating that I have forwarded their bogus email to paypal!

Do you mean that you clicked on the link in the e-mail and then logged on to your PayPal account?

If so, you have just been phished. This is the sole reason these messages are sent out. The link you click takes you to a site that looks like (sometimes exactly) the PayPal web site. You enter your user name (e-mail) and password and click log-in and presto, the bad-guys now have your login info.

If this is what you did, do yourself a huge favor and go to PayPal right now to change your password. While there, check your history to make sure no transactions that you did not authorize have taken place or are pending.

A final word for everyone: NEVER, EVER for ANY REASON click a link from an e-mail that appears to be from a bank you hold an account with, a creditor, PayPal, eBay, etc. When you need to log in to these accounts, for any reason, including an e-mail message that prompts you to, go directly to your browser and type in, or use previously 'marked' bookmark/favorite to go to the site and log in.

No, I know better than that. I opened a browser and tried to log onto my CC site. I just deleted the email.

I recently got an email that said that my ebay account information had troubles and click on this link. I have never bought or sold anything on ebay. So I deleted it. I called my kids and told them about it since they have used ebay. I wondered if it was a fake. Now I am pretty sure it was.
