My Son and Step-son are both softmores and are on the high school football team in our small town. We just went up from 5-A to 6-A this year. They are called the yellowjackets. Sheridan, Arkansas Anyway, last year one of the football coaches was killed in a car accident! It was a major loss not only to the football team but to the whole community. Coach welch was his name. Well, Now the story This summer the old head coach left and we got a new one. His name is Coach Scott Neathery He is young full of life and teaches trust courage and commitment Or as the Jackets know as TCC Anyhow he had been losing weight and not up to par when they decided to run a few more tests. He got the results around 12:00 last friday. A couple hours before the Yellowjackets first game of the season. He went to the game not saying a word to anyone. But after the game all the boys were told not to leave the feild house. Coach Neathery told them he was dianosed with Leukemia. That he would be flying out on Memorial day for kemo,,,,,, The team, was shock to say the least! My bio-son really took it hard. Coach refused to hear, impossible! Taught the boys that they are winners, before they played thier 1st game. He is very young and strong and hopefully threw God's will he will recover. If you would Say a prayer for him and his family, They will no doubt be going threw there fair share of battles in the next couple months. Thanks Sincerly, Glenda M. I, too, am sorry for the hard news. But leukemia is treatable in many forms, so perhaps medicine and prayer will bring him through this.
And if hope helps, my brother in law had a heart transplant in high school. During the transplant they found non-Hodgkins lymphoma (cancer). He survived all that, finished college, married his high school sweetheart (amid new cancers), finished his master's degree after receiving a stem cell transplant and is now 31 years old and working full time. Faith, prayer and medicine can really come together to heal! Have hope! |
