Default Do any of you attend realtors' Open Houses?

I guess some places in the U.S. there are not Open Houses on the weekend. But, we usually have some on Sunday afternoon. How many of you attend them in your area?

We just went to one today in our subdivision. The house is similar to ours and was priced what we considered pretty high. We like to compare homes in our area. We aren't in the market to buy; just basically being nosy and seeing how our home stacks up.

Sometimes we go if there's a particular house we want to see. Gas prices have curtailed this of going to a lot of them, though!

Loved going to open houses in Japan because they give you gifts to go. Get new ideas for your house, look at what's on the market and get plenty of useful gifts too. Usually household items like detergent, cleaning supplies, soap, etc.

I love to go to open houses, because I love to see other peoples homes. I go the Parade of Homes every year, to see all the new builders and look through those McMansions that are getting built, and I do wonder where everyone is getting the money for them.

I know I could not buy the type of house I have, new, because it would just be out of sight financially.

Even if you're not interested in buying the house, you can get some good decorating ideas.

It's a great way to test the skills of realtors to see which ones would be best at selling your home, if you had the desire to do so.

I had never thought of that, brizzad. That's how we found our realtor a few years ago when we did want to sell, and that was a through and open house. But, I never gave it that much thought.
