movie rentals

instead of renting movies and games, ive made i will buy it instead policy. things ive found.
walmart has a 2 for 11 bin with gr8 movies, just couple years young. i just got underworld in that bin! i got the care bear series there too.
walmart has a clearance/dollar section, old movies and tv shows for one dollar, i love lucy, kimba(which i grew up with), abbot and costello, laurel n hardy, the three stooges, all good viewing.
dollar tree has a movie section
dollar general has a movie section
movie gallery our rental store has a buy 2 get 2 free. i stick with the 9,99 or less and get four movies, newer used ones with a garuntee for 21.28 with tax out the door. they sell used ps2 games for 5-25 dollars too. rental is 3.99 for five days, i usually end up with late fees due to scheduals, so why rent something ill want again maybe, just buy it and be done with it.
youd also be suprised how much your kids or grandkids will love the shows you grew up with. my youngest,4, loves felix! and i got his felix on 3 different 2 hour discs for one dollar each.

yes, but again, for one dollar to 2 for 11 dollars or 4 for less then 22 dollars, you own them. i looked at your links posted, but also, i dont have a credit card and dont want one which also has some limitations, but i also dont have the debt, as i would spend spend spend, and i eliminate that from happening, by not possessing a card, something to which i dont have a regret about. i laughed watching a commercial today, it saying paypass by visa, i think, is safer then cash. unless your robbed, i dont see how that can be true, but robbers can still use your cards as well as cash. i dont see the need for having one. even when it comes to breaking down or something, you can pay cash for the lift and leave your license at the autozone counter and borrow thier tools. this just happened to us coming home from mich to mo at ft wayne. our serpentine went for a third time. if i had a cc there would be spending that i wouldnt need to be doing. i think i did pretty well nipping that addiction eh.lol never had one never will, unless its an id thing like in back to the future.lol.

On Netflix you can buy previously owned DVD's for $5.99 and up
Also I've bought a lot of previewed dvds and videos at Wegmans (in the Rochester area, anyway) for $4-12, depending on which movie.
My sister likes buying the previewed movies from Blockbuster as well, and is pretty happy.

i dont have a credit cards. plus walmart has a not used bin for 2 for 11. i just got underworld in that bin, so they arent too old. i got the care bears sets there too. i love the previeweds at the local rental place too. four out the door is like 21.28. if you stick with the9.99 ones. i think the last set i got i got catwoman, meet the fockers, yogiyo and brats rock angels. the only one i ever had a real problem with and ended up picking something else was spiderman 2. i buy a new one on occassion too. i bought pacifier new, 20 dollars, it come with a tub of popcorn bottle of coke and a candy, like the ones you get at the theater. my downfall there is nonpairiells.lol

Don't forget renting at your local library. Also, if your local library periodically has used book sales, check it out. Ours also sells audio books, videos, and DVDs...

I forgot about the library! -- the town of Princeton Library charges $1/rental, but it has an awesome selection (Very new releases, very big collection, many tv series -- videos and dvds).

Abowers, our local library doesn't charge. If Princeton charges, can you check out other libraries in nearby towns? Maybe they loan them for free.

Yeah I could probably find the library in the next town over or find the County library system. The library where I used to live didn't charge for movies either. This seems to be a pretty snobby library, they just finished all these renovations so it's brand new. It looks like a book store or something more than a library -- I had to prove that I live in Princeton, not in a surrounding town, to be able to get a library card for free. "Nonresidents" of Princeton need to pay $30/month just to get a card!!

our local library is attached to all librarys in the county. they do not charge here. plus if your looking for something you havent found, just ask, cause they can check thier county directory of books and have one delivered from other librarys, sometimes even same day service.

I have a friend who always buys movies from the video store or Wal Mart. I personally don't want a video library. There aren't that many movies that I would care to watch twice.

My local video store "Movie Gallery" sells a calendar for $2.00 in January. Each month has a coupon "Rent One Get One Free" We take advantage of that each month. Then if we need any more videos, the library is always an option.

i am like ur friend, i buy at movie gallery or walmart. why not when it basically costs what it would to rent anyway, if you dont want them for five days tuff, they rent by five days, even the new releases on one day only cost the same, around 4 dollars each. I rented black dog, when it come out, my son left it on the roof of the car when we loaded up to go get pix taken wtih santa in the video shop, someone got that movie at my expense, replacing a new realease averages 90 dollars or more. they cost more cause they are not off the mass produced line that goes to walmart and such, they are high quality for extra viewing, i used to work for a mom and pop shop in michigan, back when jake whos 21 was in kindergarden, and ordering medicine man, or one of those indiana jones movies that just come out was 89.95 even then. that was 17 years ago. im sure that since those days the prices have only went up. so taking late fees or replacing them into your view, it cost s you more in the end, i havent known anyone that hasnt lost one or not ever been late. maybe u or someone is the exception, but in all, i had to replace 2 movies, and late fees cost more then renting to start with. cause thats by the day, not by 5 days. games cost even more then that, to rent or buy, and finding stuff u want is harder, cause each time a new system hits the market, they delete the old ones availability. I love my nintendo 64 and my play 2, I have no interest in all this new garble coming out, by the time i get involved with something new, something better comes out. I personally loved beta! The size even was better then vhs, i dont know why vhs vs beta took off, now its discs, now theres mini discs, next there will prolly be some wifi connection load, i mean its never ending. so while the stuff is available for my specs, i buy it. that way i have it, when its gone, its gone. I dont feel renting is better then buying in any situation. I mean, i go to movie gallery and buy 2 get 2 free, so if its discs, i stick to the 9.99 section, i get four movies for approx 22 dollars with tax, if i rent them, its 18. for four dollars and i can have it and watch it when i feel like it and not have to drive there again and drop it off? well worth four dollars to me. To each thier own, but, my son rents when he feels like it only if i dont have it. seen as how i have younger kids, there are some i have for me and dh to watch, like underworld, he borrowed it. i saved him the 4 bucks rental fee. I actually bought that in the 2 for 11 bin at walmart. When we take off down the road with our rv, our kids just riding along, they have that portable dvd viewer, i have a book of discs in tow with us and they can watch what they want for our long road trip. we go to michigan, and that average ride is 14 hrs. It plugs right into the lighter place, and they usually watch felix the cat or casper videos. I just got a bunch of dvds at freds, like dollar general, for 50 cents each, all stuff i grew up with that now i can share wtih my kids, like kimba. I just bought volume 1 and 2 for one dollar. to me owning is far better then renting, i own my home, i own my car, i own my washer, i own my videos, they will last and last, i dont have to go anywhere to use them, i dont have to stop for quaters for washing. owning is a convience to me, i have four kids and one grandson, and it can go from one to the other. they now putting out stuff i watched when i was young, and i always wanted to share stuff like that with my kids, now i can, then life willing, they will have them later to share with thiers.oh and yes we own our rv too.lol.
