Question Resolutions for 2006

Do you have any non-financial resolutions for 2006?

My resolutions is to continue to improve my diet, continue to lose some weight, and exercise. I also resolve to write more letters to my family back in South Africa and the UK...they are wondering if I have fallen off the earth.

To all I wish a happy and prosperous New Year!

Lose weight, which is a given.
Land a 4.0. I got a 3.6 this semester, so if I nail Latin I will be fine.
Stop eating out as much as I do and use my meal plan more. I can't afford IHOP at 2am anymore.
Break my procrastination habits.
Put at least 100$ more into savings to bring my 350$ up. 2 more years of college then I've got loans to start paying. I've only earned about 63 cents in 8 months.

I don't do resolutions anymore, but I do make a Goal List every year. At my church they encourage each member to make a goal list and meet with the Pastor about how those goals can be reached.

Some of my goals are:

1. Graduate with my BS in Human Services

2. Graduate the Sheriff's Academy

3. Buy my DH a new truck.

4. Run along Pacific Coast Highway until I get tired

5. Buy a new livingroom set for my grandmother

6. Have at least $10,000 saved in my "home sweet home" account by December 2006.

I don't do resolutions because I get so depressed at failing. One thing I would like to try and do is appreciate what I have.

1. Main goal: Eat healthier (more fruits & veggies), make an effort to exercise more during the winter. (Secondary Goal: Lose a couple pounds. I don't own a scale, so I will just be going by how pants fit.)

2. Get more sleep! I work early in the morning (very different from my last job), and I need to make myself go to bed earlier so I can get closer to 8 hours of sleep a night.

3. Be better about staying in touch with friends from college!

Go thru every room and throw out stuff I don't need or put it into the garage for a spring sale.

exersize more..... which in turn will help to my goal of losing weight...... I had this set for last year and said by then end of 2005 I shoulda been were I wanted weight wise.... but heres 2006 without a budge........... so I have started on the right foot so far and hopefully I will reach my goal soon.... my diet is considerably well since we eat only frozen veggies and chicken int house and I barely use salt so how much healthier can my diet get??? and once in a blue blue moon like once a month we eat Mcdonalds so it's not like we have an unhealthy diet in this house.... just a huge lack of exersize!!!

1. Cut out alcohol Monday to Thursday (also doubles as a financial goal as well as health)
2. Exercise 3 times a week (up from 0 times a week, unless you count running after a toddler as exercise )
3. Lose a few kilos (between 3 - 5) before trip away in Mid March.

My main goal is for my dd and I to eat a minimum of 5 fruits and vegetables a day. My daughter is 9 and keeps a chart on her door keeping our progress. We decided once we've had 20 days of accomplishment, we're treating ourselves to a sushi lunch...we completed our 8th day today!

Cut out sugar as much as possible. Those sugar free m and m's are pretty good. (I know, I should not eat them either)

Well I have not exercised as much as I like. I am motivated by this site and am doing really well with the $20-$5000 challenge. I am finding places to add money and have done well in becoming more frugal the last month and a half. My weight has stayed the same, but my bank balance has gone up.

Doing good with the exercising resolution-- Have been going 3-4 times a week (one week I only went 2x, but I shoveled 14" of snow for an hour). I think I've lost 3-4lbs in the past month, due to the gym and eating more fruits & veggies. I need to keep it up! Really I only want to lose 5ish lbs, mostly so I can be in better shape, and tone up.

It helps that my boyfriend and I both want to eat better and work out more, so we can motivate eachother.

I've been better about going to sleep when i should so I can get closer to 8 hours of sleep a night too.
