Should I hire an Attorney or File myself (Pro Se)?

i met with an attorney for the first time today and she said it was $3000 to file a chapter 13 with $850 upfornt and it was $2250 to file for chapter 7. Can anyone tell me if this seems reasonable. My case is pretty simple i think. Is it worth trying to do it yourself? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are a lot of variables. As with most things, it is always best to get multiple bids from a number of lawyers in your area. That should give you a better idea of how reasonable the offer is. I'm sorry not to be more specific, but rates really do vary depending on where you live and exactly what work will need to be done on your behalf.

It sounds a little high but every area is different. I recommend highly get an attorney for this. but definitely as suggested get other bids.
