Default As of today, I am completely out of CC Debt...

and it feels damn good. I've been putting $300/month for the past few months, except for last month, in which I paid $600; some of that money was from selling the sneakers I bought actually from using the card. Finally, I paid off the card last night, the balance was at $513, and suddenly I feel a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I've been buried under that CC debt for a good 3 years now, and it’s finally gone. Btw to add insult to injury, the monthly charge on that bad boy was a whopping $26 a month, totally ridiculous. It’s almost surreal, and now I can put 100% focus on my Student loan.

Just wanted to share my happiness with my fellow members, and say if I can do it, you can do it too. It may take some time, but its all worth it in the end.

A big congratulations! It's something definitely worth celebrating -- just don't put the celebration on the credit card

That is so great! I'd love to join you by the end of the year but it might be more like 2010. I'll get there though. Thank you for sharing--it's great motivation!

Thanks everyone for the kind words, and hopefully my post will motivate members, just like I was motivated by several members on this wonderful site. Thanks again.

I'll add my congratulations as well. That is quite an achievement.

Be aware, as you were carrying a balance, if you just paid the balance owing, you will likely have one more bill yet to pay; the interest accrued from the statement date until the date your payment was credited.

When you get that last bill, call them and ask them to forgive it or you'll close the account. I did this and it worked for me

Congratulations again.

Ooooh, yeah! Well done! Selling the shoes you bought with it sounds like the basis for a modern day Aesop's fable.
