Re: coupon train waiting list
I would love to join a train. I just started couponing--newlyweds need to stretch their budget! I'm in Michigan. I am looking for organic coupons, canned goods (especially campbells), cereals, basically anything but baby supply coupons.
Thanks,
Jen

Re: coupon train waiting list
Hi Flash,
Instead of sending out the welcome envie worth such a lot of money , time and effort, will you let us, your followers take over?
People have
1) accused you wrongly of inaccuracy
2) run away with coupons.
We should start helping out more. After all, we save a lot because of you.
I can put together a welcome packet to save you time.

Re: coupon train waiting list
I'm new here but would love to participate & once I get the hang of it then I'd be a 'conductor' for a train. :-)
I'm looking for canned goods, baby foods, sodas/drinks and probably other stuff I can't think of right now. Thanks. Please let me know.

Re: coupon train waiting list
I would love to join a train in the northeast or even perhaps start one. I have always been into refunding and couponing and now am recently retired and have much more time to make this into more than just a hobby. Therefore I find myself with many more coupons on hand that I am not using even after trading locally. So this sounds perfect for me.

Re: coupon train waiting list
All you future train members, heres some food for thought : Would it be possible for you to send Dr.F ( flash) an SASE and some coupons you DO NOT need? I see her spending 5 hours on welcome packets with her DH and postage from her pocket. All the strategies she teaches are for free. She gets us coupons. Lets be proactive. According to my calculations, she has spent more than $20.00 on welcome packets alone. True she makes it back on the coupons, but she never needed us in the first place.
NOTE FROM FLASH -- thanks for the consideration! It's an interesting strategy to keep drifters off of the trains, and to keep the welcome packets full. Right now, though, we are implementing new rules, as Jeffrey has posted, and it's working well. For now, just enjoy the site, and if you decide to stay around and participate for awhile, you will reap the rewards of being on a great train!

Hey I could do that... I already have a pile to pass on to someone! I was going to send them off to a base...but if I can give them to the train that would be cool with me too.
On another note, should I be posting a wish list now or wait till I'm added to a train?

I'd be glad to do that, too. I guess I just need to know where to send it to.

Please no! I appreciate the thought, but I volunteer my time and costs to keep SA trains the best around. If I ever do want postage reimbursed, Jeffrey (SA) will cover it. Mostly, though, it's just my priviledge for running the trains. All anyone needs to do to "pay me back" is to KEEP THE TRAIN RUNNING SMOOTHLY from their end! It's a team!

Hi Jess!
You can post up your wish list any time. Just don't PM me your mailing address until you are assigned to a train...my inbox is overflowing and things do get deleted
Nice to see you on the site!

Re: coupon train waiting list
All I want is that one should not get cheated: may be some one would run away with the hefty welcome packet!
Hope you are feeling better.

Re: coupon train waiting list
A-, I appreciate your insights SO much! Yes, I've gotten "cheated" and scammed a few times, and I've felt horrible for the other trains members. You all put your trust, and your coupons, in my hands, to share with the other train members. When it crashes, everyone else loses their coupons, postage, etc., too.
You have such great compassion and understanding! And you really help encourage the other train members. That's worth much more than postage to me!
Now, you're a conductor...more coupons for you, less worry for me !

Re: coupon train waiting list
Dear Dr.F,
I dont meant to speak out of turn. Now that i know that you dont mind all this hard work, I am backing off!!
(I read about your family, the odds you faced and learnt about your hypothesis that everyone can save as much as you do: Its bound to rouse feelings of gratitude and protectiveness.
I merely want to see if every one feels this way. Guess what: People will walk that xtra mile for you!
Thanks again for "$330.00 worth groceries for $27.00")

Re: coupon train waiting list
I am very sorry that people have taken the coupons and run for several of you. It seems awful to do something like that. People are helping and sharing and spending their time to do this. Let's everyone have integrity! I have heard about coupon trains for a couple years know, but I have never been involved in one. I have to believe that most people are honest and this next coupon train will have no problems. : )
