We are excited to present you with an opportunity to
evaluate a next generation Hewlett-Packard Deskjet
printer. This device will allow you to scan, copy and
print documents and images. In addition, it will allow
you to preview your photos and perform basic photo
editing using the Photosmart Essentials software.
We are looking for a wide range of participants from
computer novices to experienced users. The evaluation
period will last approximately four weeks beginning mid
November 2006 and ending mid-December 2006.
If selected to participate, you will be asked to spend
a few hours per week using the HP supplied Deskjet to
complete a series of tasks using some of the printer’s
functionalities (e.g., scan, print, etc). You will also
be asked to provide feedback on your experience via
online evaluation forms. All the materials required to
complete the tasks will be supplied as needed.
Depending on your location, the printer will either be
shipped or delivered to your home or office. When
feasible, HP representatives will visit your
home/office to observe the setup and installation of
the Deskjet printer.
We hope you enjoy using the Deskjet printer and look
forward to hearing about your experience. Your feedback
helps HP make better products.
** To participate, you must be available to evaluate
the product from mid November 2006 through mid December
2006.** (Web registration required, see below.) You
will be notified of your acceptance into this program
within the next few weeks.

PROGRAM INFORMATION
======================================
The HP Deskjet printer you will be evaluating is not on
the market today. The term “beta” is used to refer to
a pre-release product still under development. As a
result, this product has not completed HP’s full
quality assurance program and may have errors or
defects. A beta test helps us discover unknown errors
or defects and fix them before releasing the product.
We have learned that HP customers may use their
products in unanticipated ways; by placing beta
printers in the homes/offices of users, HP is able to
learn more about our customers.
The delivery/setup of your unit would involve two or
three HP employees/representatives coming to your
home/office for up to three hours to observe your
experience in setting up the hardware, installing
product software, and testing basic functionality. We
ask that you please factor in this timeframe to
complete this task.
During the testing period we request and encourage you
to report to HP any and all problems, issues,
suggestions, comments, ideas and/or questions regarding
the product. You will be able to easily communicate
with HP through your personal VOConline Feedback
Center.
There are specific areas of interest where your
feedback will be particularly valuable. These include:
* Product installation issues
* Error messages/defects
* Product ease of use
* Customer satisfaction levels
It is our intention to leave the product at your home
or office for the duration of the test, but in the
event that there are unexpected difficulties with the
product or software, we could remove the product to
determine the cause of the issue.
Hewlett-Packard will compensate those participants that
complete all required To Do Items and Surveys and
return the beta unit within 2-weeks of the end of the
program, with a comparable production version of the
unit approximately 6 months after the program ends.
