I know they do some crazy things...but I do throw $5 a month to PETA bc I love animals and dont think they should be tested on, skinned or eaten.

I'm guessing it's not tax deductible.

Agreed. Our local shelters have been under pretty severe distress & need the help badly. I also find that they are better stewards of the money they receive than PETA. I honestly believe that PETA will waste any amount of money on something ridiculous simply to make a news headline. They never seem to accomplish much along the way.

Actually - it is tax deductible.

There are plenty of other animal organizations to donate to. PETA is not on my donation list.

PETA spends virtually nothing to help animals. The HSUS doesn't either(No, they don't run animal shelters). Donate to conservation organizations like Ducks Unlimited that spend millions building and restoring wetlands. The animal rights groups spend their money an payroll and advertizing.

Sorry to tell you, but PETA kills animals too. Not all of their shelters are "no kill" shelters.

Yeah PETA rocks sometimes it takes a more aggressive approach to get things done. I like a lot of what greenpeace does as well they rock at putting pressure on big corporation who abuse a variety of things.
