I've had simialar experiences with MBNA. I currently have one card with them. I just closed the other account last week!!! The remaining card is at the top of the avalanche and I hope to pay it off by November.

However, I had accounts with them in the mid 90's and the jump in interest rate happened to me then too. Now that we are discussing it, I think that's why I stopped doing business with them in the first place.
