My husband & I each own our own businesses. My husband works from his home office; I am home-based but spend several hours throughout the day away from home.

My suggestion would be that you either build on work you have already done for an employer and enjoyed and are good at (that is what my husband did) or that you pursue a favorite hobby or cause you are passionate about (that is what I did).

Just from our own personal experiences, doing something just to make money isn't going to be enough to give you the amount of drive you need to keep it going. It's best if it's an idea you come up with on your own, after thinking long and hard about what your talents, skills, and passions are.
